Social Media Strategist

We employ an evidence-led approach to managing social media accounts as part of our campaigns. That means we're not only interested in smart, well-written, engaging content, but we expect our Social Media Strategists to work closely with our in-house communication science and human behaviour experts to craft social strategies informed by the latest science on how to communicate complex issues and calls to action to strategically relevant stakeholders in digital environments. We would hire a deeply creative social scientists before we'd hire an experienced social media manager with little interest in integrating rigorously science-based comms strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop social media strategies for one or more campaigns across appropriate social media platforms;
  • Draft social post copy and source images from approved image banks;
  • Manage posting/scheduling, reply to comments/questions, and maintain social handles;
  • Implement techniques to grow, monitor, and retain online audiences;
  • Work collaboratively with the Project Impact team to monitor success, innovate for continuous improvement, and communicate needed photo/video/infographic social assets;
  • Manage cross-promotions and social calendar with production teams, directors, NGOs, brands, and marketing teams

The Fine Print:

  • Competitive hourly rate or negotiated flat monthly rate for a candidate coming on across multiple projects;
  • Graphic design skills a plus;
  • Current opening is for now through June 2022 following a 2 month trial period;

Project Coalition Coordinator

Our projects depend upon a deep understanding of, and collaboration with, various communities of practice relevant to the goals and KPIs of our campaigns. A Project Coalition Coordinator works closely with Project Impact leadership to understand our target audiences and what we hope to achieve with specific campaigns. They then research and report back on the various existing initiatives, media outlets, NGOs, and government agencies working on a given issue in a given part of the world. They disseminate streamlined insights to the rest of the Project Impact team to help paint both the history and current landscape of an issue to inform decisions about where/how we recruit project collaborators. Ideal candidates are deeply familiar with international NGOs as well as their sociopolitical nuances. The right candidate(s) might cover one or more current areas of interest. Our current areas of interest for coalition building include:

Circularity and sustainable economies;

Climate and environment advocacy within the US, Europe, and South America, including, but not exclusive to, diverse faith communities;

The intersection of plastics pollution and human health impacts

Responsibilities:

  • Research and/or draw on previous knowledge to map issue stakeholder groups;
  • Generate succinct reports and present findings to campaign teams and partners via video conference;
  • Manage outreach to existing or new contacts about collaboration with our campaigns;
  • Maintain professional relationships with collaborators to keep them engaged in our project and stay up to date with their needs/interests;
  • Work closely with Project Impact leadership to provide timely insights and updates;
  • Coordinate cross-promotions, collaborative initiatives, shared virtual or in-person events, etc in service to the campaign goals and objectives.

The Fine Print:

  • Competitive hourly rate or negotiated flat monthly rate for a candidate coming on across multiple projects;
  • Previous experience in a similar role a plus;
  • Fluent English required. Spanish, Portuguese, French and/or Italian a plus;
  • Current opening is for an initial round of development research (1 month) with potential to extend to management role for 8-12 months depending on project;

Digital Short form producer/Editor

Our campaigns and projects innovate across multiple platforms and new media to engage strategic audiences where they are most active. Our digital output ranges from witty TikTok content to 15 sec Instagram clips to highly produced 2 minute micro shorts that inspire, educate, and engage audiences around our project topics. We are always looking for smart, efficient digital media editors, loggers, animators, FX and After Effects wizards. Increasingly, we're interested in short form story producers with the skills to self-direct, produce, and edit digital content. We nearly always have a wealth of top quality stills and video assets to provide. Sometimes we have a specific creative brief. But often we also want you to bring your own ideas and recommendations for short story arcs, explainer videos, etc. This means being interested in our big picture goals and objectives for the project, our strategic target audience, and our calls to action, to produce digital media that supports our collective success. Being accessible to our London office and edit suite is a plus. 

Responsibilities:

  • Pulling and cataloging stills from production footage;
  •  Cropping thematic selections of clips to aspect ratios for various digital platforms;
  • Editing sizzles, compiling 10-30 second thematic clips for Instagram, producing and editing shorts for IGTV, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, etc.
  • Storyboarding and proposing short form content based on project goals and objectives or specific briefs;
  • Recommending FX, animations, etc (or bringing the skillset to complete yourself);
  • Producing on time and on budget;
  • Adobe Premiere preferred
